I would never recommend it to anyone but if it works for you and you like it then that's great- who am I to tell you you can't or shouldn't use it.about 4 years ago a freak storm rolled through the fest. But it never really produced any decent results. That is where I heard about the vinegar and coke and aluminum foil. I worked in a commercial DRP (direct repair shop) doing frame straightening and collision repair for almost three years then went to a custom shop and did restorations. ![]() I did auto body repair for 4 years (from age 18 to 22). Yes, this takes work but so does playing the drums and progressing. Finally use a cloth (or several) with a metal polish to produce the final results. Use the #0000 dry first, then use it with a good metal polish. Then step up to a #0000 steel wool to begin the finer polishing. I would recommend using #0 steel wool first to get rid of the majority of the rust. The build-up from organic material and minerals is very different than oxidation and rust.Įven with moderate to severe rust, there is still hope. maybe ill try this before i start putting on the metal prep acid bath.Even with moderate to severe rust, there is still hope. it looks pretty good to me, wayyy better than a rusted part. I thought i was stuck in the mud on this one, until i saw that tension rod that you got polished up. i am seriously debating powder coating all the stands black. sadly, i think the rust has eaten then chrome so its beyond a polish repair. I have some serious rust building on ALL of my equipment, from years and years of hauling them around.
